As member of the Taguig Micro Watershed Project Team of the Save Laguna Lake initiative of the Laguna Lake Development Authority, RI District 3830 and the City of Taguig, RCMBA attended and co-signed the Memorandum of Agreement between the project partners during the National Bamboo Development Forum held last Oct. 22, 2008 at the World Trade Center.
The Save Laguna Lake - Taguig Micro Watershed project covers the planting of bamboos at the designated lake shorelands along Taguig by the participating club's adopted Rotary Community Corps (RCC) with seedlings funded by the clubs. Signing the MOA were Gov Boyet, LLDA Gen. Manager Ed Manda, Taguig Mayor Freddie Tinga and the presidents of the project member clubs. RCMBA's PP Harry Dacumos, who is also the District Chair for RCC and the man behind the RCC component of the project, came to witness the signing ceremonies. Also present was Community Service Director, Noi Alunan.
The presence of the First Gentleman Mike Arroyo and DENR Secretary Jose Atienza at the National Bamboo Development Forum only eemphasizes the significance and importance of the project of the D3830 clubs. |
