RCMBA, during its rgular meeting last Feb. 10, 2009 at Basilio's Restaurant, formalized the implementation of the club's "Combating Micro-Nutrient Deficiency" prroject, by signing the Memorandum of Agreement with the officials of the Jose Fabella Memorial School of Welfareville, Mandaluyong City, RCMBA's implementing partner for the project. The project is made possible by funding support from the Rotary Foundation under Matching Grant No. 66454 in the amount of US$10,000.
The project covers the setting up of a complete bakery and fishpond, the produce of which are highly nutritious food products to be sold at low cost to students and the general public within the community. The proceeds will primarily support RCMBA's feeding program for the benefit of the pre-school children of the Gawad Kalinga Sibol School of the club's adopted community in Welfareville. Overall, the project will provide livelihood for the RCMBA Rotary Community Corps of Welfareville, provide nutritious food for the shool and community children and sustain RCMBA's feeding program for the GK Sibol kids.
The signing of the MOA was witnessed by District Governor Boyet Limon and District TRF Matching Grant Chair PP Nash Pablo, who provided total support to RCMBA's matching grant application with the Rotary Foundation initiated by IPP Rico Ocampo last Rotary Year. It was finalized and granted recently through Pres Yolly Abueg's follow-up and will see full implementation during the term of PE Roland Zurbano next RY 2009-2010. Also present to grace the occassion were Senior Assistant Governor for Public Relations PP Chochit Tobias and District Chair for Rotary Community Corps PP harry Dacumos, both RCMBA past presidents, and Charter President Sonie Zamora. |
