RCMBA JOINS BRIGADA ESKWELA 2010

| The Rotary Club of Makati Bel-Air, led by incoming president GP Robbie Bonoan and incoming Youth Service Director Noi Alunan, recently participated in the Brigada Eskwela at the Jose Fabella Memorial School, in Welfareville, Mandaluyong City. Brigada Eskwela is an annual event initiated by the Department of Education at all public schools around the country and participated in by parents, teachers and even students, to help in cleaning up the school facilities a few days before school opening. |

 As part of the club's continuing support to its adopted school, RCMBA donated brooms, rags, paints and other cleaning materials, and conducted a quick lecture on Cleanliness and Sanitation and oriented the participants on how to carry out the organized cleaning activities.
The club was supported by the GK Welfareville Rotary Community Corps and Rotaract Club of GK Welfareville, who are both sponsored by RCMBA.
Jose Fabella School is also RCMBA’s partner in the operation of a bakery livelihood and nutrition project, which benefits some 1,000 elementary students in the community. The bakery project was made possible by a US$ 10,000 Matching Grant from The Rotary Foundation, initiated by the latter part of 2009 under then President Yolly Abueg and was finally implemented by incumbent President Roland Zurbano. |
