RCMBA ATTENDS PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAM

RCMBA, led by Pres. Robbie Bonoan, attended the second part of the Prostate Cancer Awareness Program lead-hosted by RC Guadalupe Nuevo, headed by Global President Willy Andrade, last September 7, 2010 at the Metroclub, Makati City. The program was attended by 40 other clubs. The guest speaker was Dr. Joseph Lee, a specialist on urology and connected with a number of hospitals, among them, the Fatima Medical Center.

| Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system and may be attributable to heredity, lifestyle, and diet. Most prostate cancers are slow growing and the cancer cells may metastasize (spread) from the prostate to other parts of the body, particularly the bones and lymph nodes. Prostate cancer may cause pain, urinating difficulties or erectile dysfunction. Other symptoms can potentially develop during later stages of the disease. It is recommded for males over 40 to have themselves checked because, if detected early, prostate cancer can be easily treated. |
