DG ATO'S 2008 NEW YEAR MESSAGE
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
On behalf of Vicky and my family, greetings for a joyful and bountiful new year to you, your spouses and every Rotary family!
My new year's wish and prayer for my Sharing Presidents, and for all District Officers is that we persevere, and be "brave, and strong, and true", and that we continue to "fill the world with love our whole life through."
Early this Rotary year I referred to all of the Sharing Presidents as my stars and asked each of you to journey and "fly with me to the moon" and be the best President that you can be.
Your club is unique. Each of you was presented with different situations when you were elected President. For some, it was an issue of survival; therefore reviving and reinvigorating your club with fresh ideas and initiatives like recruiting a new breed of Rotarians to make your club functional was top priority. For most, the issue was transitioning to "best practice" mode in terms of the club leadership plan structure and promoting efficiency in club operations. For others, the challenge is to aspire and move up from just being a "good" club to becoming a "great" club.
My Sharing Presidents, indeed you are my Sharing Stars. I called you different names consistent with what I saw was your unique leadership gift. Our mission is clear - to advance the object of Rotary service, we must strengthen each club in District 3830 to be the best that it can become this Rotary year. This is our legacy and contribution during our watch.
I thank you all for investing time, energy, and personal resources over the first six months of our term and congratulate you for the many fine accomplishments on membership growth, service projects, TRF, sports/fellowship activities and PR and publicity. Thank you too, and congratulations for the strong bond of friendship, fellowship, camaraderie, and cooperation that you have shown.
Let us welcome the new year with even greater vigor and enthusiasm and, guided by the "North Star", gear up for a strong finish over the final six months of our term.
YES! YES! YES!
