RY 2005 - 2006

Rosario "Charo" Yu

"With coarse rice to eat, with water to drink, and my crooked arm for a pillow - is not joy to be found therein?  Riches and honors acquired through unrighteousness are to me as the floating clouds"

- Pres. Charo quoting Confucius to her members

“It is righteous to drink rice wine and honorable to float in the clouds afterwards.”

- The members reply – confused rather than Confucian.

Like Kublai Khan advancing across the Mongolian steppes to conquer China and establish the Yuan Dynasty, Charo swept the Club and its members, and ushered in the Dynasty of the Great Yu.

Like the Song Dynasty where Chinese culture and commitment to the ethics of Confucius reached their zenith, service and fellowship reached new heights in the Dynasty of the Great Yu. Spurred by Charo’s charge, the club served as midwife to the spread of free health services, health education, and health facilities, basic values, music and song, livelihood skills, access to financial resources, and knowledge and ideas through books and seminars.

In all things that mattered, the Club under the Dynasty of the Great Yu, was “China” or to the ancients, “Zhongguo” or the “Middle Kingdom.” Indeed, in all things that mattered, to the Rotarians basking in the afterglow of the 365 days of the Dynasty of the Great Yu, in District 3830, RCMBA was the celestial, the eternal MIDDLE CLUB!
